Artistic expression began at an early age for Lynda Edwards. Surrounded by a variety of cultures and her parents' love of the arts, Edwards sharpened her skills in painting, dance, and theatre. Her abilities were quickly recognized and encouraged by her family and teachers.

A graduate of the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Arts, Edwards began honing her skills under James McGinley and other master painters while at school. Her primary subjects were of bold impressionistic landscapes, city scenes, and portraits that provoked emotional awareness. Lynda’s images were drawn from her life experience and places where she lived and travelled.

Early in her career, her use of lush and vibrant colors brought a fantastic surrealist quality to her work. A modern day artist, Edwards exhibits a command of the canvas and a refreshing interpretation of technical style. Incorporating eyes became a recurring motif in her surrealistic work within her paintings. It is a type of art provoked by the consciousness of the forces and tensions that surround humankind. Her personal approach in her own work of combining physical movement with creating art instigated another passion. Edwards simultaneously pursued group and personal training fitness certifications and is inspired by the love of choreography, swimming, dance, martial arts, and anatomy. Her artistic niche demonstrates her independence from tradition and stays true to her own vision.
